Pitfalls
Floating-point arithmetic is not exact:0.1 + 0.2 is 0.30000000000000004, not 0.3. This is not a Python bug — it affects every language that uses IEEE 754 doubles. Always compare floats with a tolerance (abs(a - b) < 1e-9), not ==.
int() truncates, it does not round:int(3.9) is 3. Use round(3.9) to get 4. This distinction matters when converting a read depth fraction to an integer.
String immutability: You cannot write `dna[0] = "
