Pitfalls
Variables point to objects, not boxes:alias = original does not copy the value — both names point to the same object. For strings and numbers this does not matter (they are immutable). For lists and dictionaries it does — modifying through one name changes what the other name sees.
Reassignment vs. mutation:seq = seq + "AAA" creates a new string and points seq to it. The original string is unaffected. This is different from my_list.append("AAA"),
